The Parliamentary Centre celebrates 50 years of getting governance right

The Parliamentary Centre celebrated its 50th Anniversary on April 23rd in Ottawa. We were honored to receive over 350 guests who listened to the Hon. Geoff Regan, Speaker of the House of Commons, the Hon. Scott Brison, Acting Minister of Democratic Institutions, and the Right Honourable David Johnston speak about the role of the Parliamentary Centre in building strong institutions and promoting democracy at home and abroad. Senator Raynell Andreychuk, Anita Vandenbeld, M.P., and Hélène Laverdière, M.P. spoke of their personal experiences working with the organisation.

Thank you all for celebrating our 50th years of service and helping us create our future. The Parliamentary Centre is looking at the road ahead with determination and excitement. We will be focusing on a mechanism for rapid response to addressing democratic challenges in fragile countries and on innovative approaches to better connecting citizens with their elected representatives.

The Parliamentary Centre is grateful to the sponsors that helped to make this event possible.
