Knowledge Exchange Session on Parliament-Media Relations

Providing timely, accurate and relevant information and having clear rules for journalist access to parliament is key for a good relationship between the media and elected assemblies.

These were some of the highlights from a knowledge exchange session on parliament-media relations facilitated by the Parliamentary Centre and the International Republican Institute last week for managers from the Administration of the National Assembly of Armenia.

We are grateful to Ms. Heather Bradley, Director of Communications, Office of the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, Mr. Collin Lafrance, Chief of Canada’s Press Gallery Secretariat, and Monika Kutkaitytė Press Office Adviser at the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania for sharing their experience and expertise. Mrs. Heghine Khachikyan, Deputy Chief of the Administration, and Ms. Laura Antonyan, Assistant to the Secretary General and other participants from the National Assembly were active participants in the session.
